胖胖鱼–伦敦的日子

周六，二月25号，在david hebert夫妇的邀请下，我们怀着喜悦的心情去看冰球比赛 （狂吐一下）。davide 人很热情，邀请了我们几次，我们本来一直也没什么兴趣，看在人家这么诚意，我们也就答应下来。我从来不知道冰球怎么玩的，就好像我从来不看冬运会一样，只看国内的乒乓阿，羽毛阿，足球什么的。洋鬼子的东西没有了解过。这一次看冰球，是western mustangs 跟 lakehead university的队进行比赛，一向没瞧得上那个学校，而且怎么也应该是我们自己野马队的粉丝，所以加倍卖力的吆喝。冰球现场给我的感觉就是：快。羡慕他们能溜冰溜得那么好，速度真快，有的时候眼睛跟不上他们的球速了。他们的球叫做puck，是橡胶做的。守门员叫goalee，穿了超多的防护。看了比赛发现老外真的很野蛮，经常比赛的过程就打来打去，用胳膊肘打人的人要被关到一个小玻璃门后面去2分钟。因为速度快，运动员体力消耗大，所以他们几乎2-3分钟就要换人，但不是像足球那样，换人还要举牌子，他们就是其中3，4个人滑回来，有几个准备好的直接滑上去，不用通知裁判。每个队有22名队员，但上场的有5个而已，他们就不断的交替上场。我觉得他们没有足球那么累。废话少说，看看录像吧。

辛辛苦苦做了一堆菜给下班的老公，结果人家往沙发一躺，就是不想吃，催了几次也懒得吃饭，气得我差点把菜都倒入水池（心疼了一下还是没倒，只是摔到了厨房桌子上），然后怒气冲冲穿上鞋子离家出走（当时老公在厕所），他一听到我出门，赶紧跑出来追我，我直奔cherryhill mall，边走边看到后面他在不远的地方跟着，进到mall了以后，我一转弯进到了public library，嘻嘻，成功把他甩掉，这个本家伙，从来没进过图书馆，直接进A&P去了，我随后也出来进超市转了一圈，实在是冷，只穿了在家穿的单衣，所以还是哆哆嗦嗦回家去了。一开门，老公已经回来了，还埋怨到处找不到我，知道我肯定往那里跑了。所以作为补偿我心灵的创伤，他把菜全部吃掉。还要做happy状，hoho，战斗赢咯！

很久倦怠没写博客了。因为最近发生的事情真的很多很难以置信，所以觉得有必要记下来，以后闲来无事，翻翻看看。从情人节那天说起吧， 那天老公就没把情人节当回事，我一开始也没有，就想给他做点小cookies，表达一下算了，结果呢，在网上和其他的女友聊天，她们有的人收到了吉他，有 的人收到了roots的200多刀的小包，和她们一比，我觉得自己好可怜啊，老公什么也没打算给我。幸好老公的弟弟寄的邮包到了，让我解了一把嘴馋。在网 上和老公诉了一通苦，老公下班给我买了一个cheesecake.还算不错。有钱富过，没钱穷过，只好这样安慰自己了。

我的research进展的很不顺利，那些学校都说没有适合的研究对象，让我比较郁闷。

2 月17号早上，一觉醒来，发现自己做了一个特别奇怪的梦，梦到老公有前妻，非常清晰，甚至连那个女人的长相都很清楚，我一向睡眠很好，很少做梦，这是有记 忆以来，第二次能够梦醒记的自己的梦，觉得怪怪的。 然后白天就是莫名的烦，什么都不想做，看电脑也烦，在屋子里面走来走去，外面很冷，还飘着雪，难得的大多地区暴风雪。下午4点半左右，手机响了，竟然是 carol，我们系的graduate chair，纳闷她怎么打电话给我，原来是个好消息，我的博士申请通过了，她在给我发正式offer之前通知我一声。我好高兴哦，这样的话可以跟老公一起 在伦敦了，虽然要4年的时间，不过有奖学金，倒也吃喝不愁。发信给老公，他说他高兴的哭了都。觉得自己的运气还真不错啊，至少是心想事成了。也不知道应该 感谢哪个神灵的庇护。

2月18日，一大早要去参加first aid的培训，今天出奇的冷，零下17度，室友人很好，她老公从hamilton过来，幸好有车，所以就送我去培训的地方，在white oaks mall还要往南。4个人都被弄起来了，我觉得挺乐的，就去个培训这么多人送我。9点开始培训，还挺好玩，有假人做实践，中午12点多，老师说还有一个小 时就可以结束，我心里乐开了花，原来写的是5点，向我的partner借了手机，给老公打电话，让他们接我，顺别可以逛街了阿。结果一打电话，老公上气不 接下气地说出车祸了，不过人没有事。吓了我一大跳，他接着说，车完全报废了。我当时傻掉了，因为我知道车对我室友的重要性。最后一个小时几乎没怎么听。赶 紧坐公车回家。原来他们在快到家的路上在路口前一个急刹车，因为有冰，车打滑，掉了个头，撞倒了路边的电线杆，把它撞断了。幸好不是国内的水泥电线杆，要 不然人就完了。我心里非常歉意，因为都是为了送我，要不然他们也不会这么大早出来。所以我跟我室友说给他们些钱补偿一下，室友死活不要，弄得我更难办了。 我们决定下月不要她的房租。最万幸的是人都安全，我觉得这比什么都重要了。老公现在还心有余悸，终于有那种死里逃生的体会了。我曾有过一次，做新东方的校 车，也是路面结冰打滑，车跑到路对面去了，幸好当时没过来车。我下车后马上给家里人打电话报平安。所以生命是最重要的，有时候生命中失去一些，得到的不只 一些。

总算搬到了新家，花了25刀租了一辆minivan，在朋友的帮忙下，东西都顺利的搬进去了。屋里的设施还挺全活，新冰箱，新地毯，新粉刷的墙。搬入的晚 上，老公侧耳一听，说有噪音，我使劲听了一下，是有点，不过没有什么影响。自此之后，老公心情郁闷，竟然将此公寓定为他所住过的最差的公寓，气得我火冒三 丈。吵了几次，心想还是由着他吧，谁让他现在还是家里的经济支柱，嘻嘻。于是开始投诉物业关于噪音问题。投诉信如下：
Dear Chery,

I am a tenant living at Apt. ***,*** Platt’s Lane. I moved here ten days ago. I loved this place because it’s quiet and safe ( I have ever lived in this building for 3 months in 2004). But on the first day I moved in this time, I heard disturbing noise at night. It doesn’t stop for 24 hours. Because I inspected the apartment in daytime, the noise is not that significant. But at night, it’s so annoying. My husband and I couldn’t fall asleep for a long time every evening. I am a Master’s student at UWO. I need a quiet place to write my thesis. My husband likes to read books after supper. Both of us are distracted by the noise in the evening. It’s hard to bear. We thought we can get used to the noise. However, now it seems impossible. I have asked Gloria to check out this problem. She said there is no way to deal with it, because the boiler room is right beside my apartment. And the boilers or the pumps can not be stopped. So I am writing to you to see how we can settle this. We still love this building. We hope to switch to another one-bedroom apartment facing South in this building, quiet and away from those noisy rooms, so that we can still keep the lease. If there is no such an apartment available in the coming two months, we are afraid that we have to suspend the lease in advance. I hope you understand this problem. Thanks!

效果不错，上周四，来了两个老头来调查噪音了。让 我哭笑不得的是那个maintenance manager，竟然带着助听器，来听噪音，废话，聋子怎么听得到嘛。 另外一个是building manager，一副老态傻傻的样子，说有一点小噪音而已。回去之后他们就做了如下决定：

Dear Honfang

Your noise complaint was investigated by our Maintenance Manager and Building Managers and their findings were that this was normal building noise.

Further investigation was conducted to see if previous Tenants in your unit had any complaints and they did not.

You mention that the boiler room is right beside your apartment but that is not the case. Similarly, Apartments that do have the boiler right above them do not have a concern with boiler room noise so even if the boiler room were beside you our experience is that it would not cause a problem.

I am so glad that you love the building, we love having you.

In your e-mail you mention that you wish to switch units to another south apartment in the same building. I hope to address both of your suggestions but I first want to make it very clear that we at Old Oak do want to satisfy your housing needs for a very long time.

If you wish to switch apartments you would first assign your present unit. An assignment is legally processed through your Building Managers. You would find someone to take over your lease and we would process the paperwork. Another option is sub-letting your unit, although that does not sound appropriate to me given what I believe your request is.

If you had completed a one year lease with us and required a different unit we would transfer you. This Transfer would be done through your Building Management at 251.

If you assign your unit (and only if you assign your unit) and wish to explore another unit in your building or in our complexes I would direct you to our leasing office for their expert experience and wide variety of availability.

Hongfang, I assure you we do investigate thoroughly to see if there is anything we need to do but in your situation we have investigated and not found any disturbing noise. I trust that you will appreciate our investigation.

态度极为的礼貌，可是就是不解决问题，哼，还惹毛我啦，我还偏要跟你们玩到底。说的一点站不住脚嘛，派个聋子来就想大事化了。于是我就做了以下的反驳： Dear Chery, I have to say I am not satisfied with that investigation. 1) I have told you and written on the request form that the noise is loud at night, and it’s not that loud in daytime. Obviously, your people come to investigate in the morning and got that shaky conclusion. From common sense, noise can be masked by many different other sounds in the day. 2) I don’t have to mention what’s inside the Maintenance Manager’ ear. Is that a hearing-aided equipment? If he himself has a poor hearing ability, how can he possibly understand the sufferings we have from the noise? 3) As a tenant, I have no idea where the noise is from, boilers or something. I was led to believe that must boilers by the first assistant, Gloria. She said it might be boilers. I only know there is noise. I don’t care what’s beside my room. The Maintenance Manager and Building Managers have opened the door for me, and they know how loud the sound is in that room. There is only an empty room, do you have proof that it’s strong enough to block the noise? 4) No other such complaints don’t mean that the noise doesn’t exist. People’s bearing ability varies individually. Some people may take the noise as nothing, but we take it seriously. 5) We are not trying to arouse some unreasonable disputes. If so, we can choose to move out. It’s because we like this building, we stay here, and we’d like to keep a lease as long as we can have a comfortable apartment. We don’t mind waiting for a couple of months, 2 or 3, even 4 months.I don’t think our request is hard to accept. When they left last week, the Maintenance Manager has agreed to switch an apartment for me. I don’t know why it becomes different now. So if you can’t switch an apartment for us within the next 4 months (the longest time we can bear), we would be sorry to say that we can’t keep the one-year lease. I think this might be the best solution for both of us– we don’t have to suffer the noise after 4 months and you don’t have to bother switching another apartment.

从这次的事件中，我得出两个结论：1）老外们还是比较单纯，不太会耍赖；2）老外们还是讲理的，而且加拿大的投诉机制还是很完善。 不错不错。

昨天看着冰箱里的一堆像芥菜疙瘩的东西,不知道怎么处理. 关键是不知道他们是不是芥菜疙瘩.拿了3个,把皮刮净,茬成丝,吃了一口,还真是萝卜味儿,所以放心大胆,加盐,糖,酱油,香油,辣椒,鸡精,醋,拌好 了,hoho ,真的是个疙瘩头咸菜的味道，想起小时候在洛阳妈妈腌的咸菜，味道真不错。平时华人超市里面卖的陪陵榨菜，还要合人民币3，4元一小袋，而且就那么一点 点，现在我只用了3个疙瘩头，做了一饭盒的咸菜。希望妈妈能看到我写的，应该够为我骄傲的吧。

今天把rogers上网和电视都order了，虽然都是很基本的package，不过总算可以自由的上网和看电视，还是不错啊。今天房东也要请了我们周日 圣诞大餐，我是逃不了帮忙啦。教授想要烤鸭子，因为烤鸡太大了，希望她能烤出北京烤鸭也不错。谈话中小不爽了一下，我说在伦敦好像没见到过卖鸭子的，教授 说你去的都是cheap store，那里没有，只有像A&P, loblaws才会有，我说我经常去A&P（因为那里处理的菜又好又便宜，很划算），我都没有见过，她说可能你错过去了。哼哼，不就是来了这个蛮 荒之地加拿大，在国内吃烤鸭都不用自己烤。原谅见世面少的人吧。

快要搬家喽，好开心地说。前一阵子在别人家已经定了一个futon（类似沙发床的东西）和一个沙发，今天Laura要搬家，把她的餐桌和4把椅子也给了我 啊，还卖给我一个书架，呜呜，竟然要20刀，不过人家帮我把东西送货上门，还是很感动滴。这样一来，我们在house里的东西就没有家具什么的了，只是衣 服（hoho，超多），还有书啊，电脑之类的，我太向往搬家了，这样可以做自己喜欢吃的东西，还不用和导师成天面对面那么尴尬。而且重要的是老公上班里的 近了，这样他可以晚上睡得多一点，不过他发胖的机会也会因此而增大。现在万事俱备了，就等27号搬了，feel thrilled and excited, yeah!

今天老公的老板请我们吃希腊大餐，一开始查资料希腊菜以海鲜和烧烤著名，结果去了以后有点失望。一上来就是各种cheese,土豆泥用来抹面包和pita 的，和当地人吃的没什么区别。然后我点了牛排作主菜，老公点了鸡肉串。味道很淡，不像国内加很多料在里面。老公边吃边加番茄酱。最后的甜点是个败笔，味道 很一般，我吃的以为像cheese cake一样的东西，不过吃起来有些硬，而且很甜，那个cinnamon的甜点更是夸张，腻得我都倒胃口了。以后看样子还是要对老外的东西不报太大希望才 行。

1，材料1：一份Shortening(一种酥油)，半份糖，一个鸡蛋黄，搅拌均匀
2，材料2：一份面粉，一勺Baking Power(泡打粉)， 一勺盐，搅拌均匀
3，两种材料混合搅拌均匀，用手捏成球状，在蛋清中滚一下，放入椰丝中滚动，表面沾满椰丝
，放入烤盘（烤盘需要涂抹油，或者垫上锡箔纸），球上可以点些果酱
4，放入烤箱，温度华式325度，烘烤15分钟左右，外表颜色变成金黄即可
