oh my,大雨倾盆的中秋呀
这一阵子忙着赶thesis proposal,因为导师希望我9月底能把proposal defence做了，她好舒服的回别墅住去，我就马不停蹄呀的写。写的比较烦，事先没有看网上的要求，上面说20-25页，我很BH的写了50页，以至于后来看到网上写得要求就有想砸电脑的冲动。不管怎样，丑媳妇还是要见公婆，把烂烂的proposal发给了两个教授看。之后几天心就扑通扑通的，担心教授要把我骂一顿，严重的信心不足呀。还很怀疑的自己在家没事把50多页的东西看了看，越看还越欣赏，BS一下自己的掩耳盗铃行为。后来和教授meeting,竟然两人都觉得我写的不错，娃哈哈~~~说差不多都可以答辩了，但是还要做修改的，于是上个星期就在修改。唉，也不是随便添个句子就行的事儿，还要看点东西，这个麻烦。周六系里还在一个教授家给新博士生（受苦的新一代，现在多么的幸灾乐祸）开Party，本想撑着老脸去混混，伦敦的天，那叫一个苦不堪言，雨下了一天竟然，而且还不是那种无所谓的毛毛雨，想了半天，算了，不去混了，省得到时候弄的淋雨。周日还在家改proposal,那个雨呀就在上午放晴了不一会儿就狂泻不止，估计是美国那个Ike闹得，扁一下小美。好好的一个中秋节，就被大雨哗啦啦冲了个连月亮影都不见。晚上做饭，压根也就没想起来是中秋，混乱弄了两个菜，还跟老公唧唧歪歪吵了一小架。说到月饼，老早在Costco看中了4个装的月饼，12刀，当时想离中秋还早，就没着急买，结果离中秋三周的时候，小盒装的就木了，剩下双盒装的，24刀，觉得小贵，看有朋友合买没有，上周有朋友想一起买，去那里一看，月饼盒子都木了，愤然自己做，没有模子，凑合做出来，结果做得扁了，真的是“饼”了，不过味道奇好，只能称之为月亮甜饼子。我们就这么稀里糊涂的过得中秋–佩服自己的流水账式记事！

It is great to read your blog. I like the fact that Yu has always been so consistent with the blog and it is also great to read.
I nearly forgot Mid Autumn Festival is coming soon. I had a moon cake last Friday and it was very nice.
Gina and I went back to China for the summer. It was great to see so many friends. I saw Yi Ming, Wei Wei, Han Yan, Wang Yan.
Gina and I really want to visit you both. We will have to plan for seeing you within the next couple of years.

You went back to China in summer? We did that too, but from May to July. I ddin’t stay in Luoyang for a long time because I spent most time with my family in Shanghai. I didn’t get a chance to visit friends like xiaocong, yiming…well, I had a chat with Yun Yaping outside my parents’ home. You know, she married a man in my parents’working place. I hope that you and Gina can make a trip to Canada, and hopefully, if there is any conference held in UK in my area, I would certainly love to pay a visit to you. –Hongfang
Yes, we stayed in Beijing for 2 days, Luoyang 3 days, Mum&Dad’s house 10 days, Shanghai 2 days. I then went to Zhengzhou to see some uni friends whom I had not seen for 10 years. It was great.
I read your blog of your trip in China (three months you stayed in China!!! I am very jealous of you). I could tell that your family had moved to Shanghai (when was this?)
Yun Yaping must have got married after I left Luoyang. What is she doing in Shanghai?
Sorry for the late reply! The week is like a nightmare. I’ll be defending my thesis proposal next week and there are many more errands to run. I guess this week is the one I work the hardest in an overview of my Ph.D life.
No, I didn’t meet Yun Yaping in Shanghai, but Luoyang, when she walked by my parents’ residence building with her kid (4 years old?). I’d really love to see what the new school looked like, but just became so lazy staying at home with my mom (she accompanied me to Luoyang for a short stay). When is your next visit?
